To ensure uninterrupted movement of world leaders, VVIP motorcades and international delegates and to avoid traffic jams for the general public, the administration has announced holidays and traffic restrictions in many institutions.
Complete details of how normal life, offices, markets and transport will operate in Delhi from September 11 (Friday) to September 13 (Sunday) are given below:

All schools and educational institutions: As per the orders of Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE), all government, government-aided and unrecognized/recognized private schools in the capital have been declared completely closed on September 11 (Friday). After this, there will be regular weekend holiday (Saturday-Sunday) on 12th and 13th September.

Central and Delhi Government Offices: On September 11, all Central Government Ministries, Central Offices, Delhi Government Secretariats, Autonomous Bodies and Public Undertakings (PSUs) located in Delhi will remain closed.

Supreme Court and Delhi Courts: The Full Court of the Supreme Court of India has declared 11 September as an official holiday. Similarly, Delhi High Court and New Delhi district courts (like Patiala House Court) will also remain closed/virtual mode for physical hearing.

More than 35 roads of Lutyens’ Delhi: Entry for general non-authorized vehicles will remain closed on more than 35 main roads including Sardar Patel Marg, Teen Murti Marg, Shanti Path, Akbar Road, Purana Qila Road, Mathura Road (Bhairon Marg to W-Point), Janpath and Copernicus Marg.

Entry of commercial and heavy vehicles: Entry of non-destined heavy commercial vehicles will be restricted in Delhi border.

App-based cab service in controlled zones: There will be a temporary ban on on-road pickup/drop service of taxis like Ola, Uber within Lutyens Delhi and containment zones during VVIP movement.

Delhi Metro: The biggest relief for Delhiites is metro service. All corridors and all stations of Delhi Metro network will remain operational normally. Delhi Police has appealed to the citizens to travel by metro instead of private vehicles. Only some exits of Supreme Court station may be controlled short-term for security reasons.

Hospital and Emergency Services: All government and private hospitals, trauma centers and medicine shops will remain open 24 hours. An uninterrupted ‘Green Corridor’ has been arranged across Delhi for emergency medical vehicles (Ambulances).

Banks and Financial Markets: Commercial banks, ATMs and financial institutions in Delhi will remain open as per their regular schedule.

Airport and Railway Station: Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport), New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS), Old Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station will remain fully operational. Major Markets: Major retail markets of Delhi (such as Chandni Chowk, Karol Bagh, Lajpat Nagar, Sarojini Nagar) will remain open as normal, except for establishments around select parts of Central and Lutyens Delhi (where there are VVIP hotels or venues).

DTC and cluster buses will run normally in other parts of the city, but their routes have been diverted in the affected areas of Lutyens Delhi and Ring Road.

Inter-State buses are being restricted to the outer ISBTs of Delhi (Kashmiri Gate, Anand Vihar, Sarai Kale Khan) and their entry has been stopped on the inner routes of the city.
