Shimla: Amidst the weak pace of monsoon in Himachal Pradesh, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of light to moderate rain at some places in Shimla, Chamba, Kangra and Sirmaur. In most parts of the state, it has been light cloudy since morning with intermittent sunshine. Rain activities are likely to remain weak in the next four days and the temperature may increase.
Rain alert in four districts including Shimla-Chamba
The weather patterns are constantly changing in Himachal Pradesh. Most parts of the state including the capital Shimla remained light cloudy on Friday morning. Intermittent sunshine was also seen in some areas. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain at some places in Shimla, Chamba, Kangra and Sirmaur districts.
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be rain at some places in these four districts till 12 noon. However, monsoon activity is expected to remain weak in most parts of the state in the coming days.
56% less rain than normal last week
Rainfall in Himachal Pradesh last week was much less than normal. During this period, the state recorded 56 percent less rainfall than normal. The effect of lack of rain is also visible on the activity of monsoon.
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the monsoon is likely to remain weak in the state for the next four days. There is little hope of widespread rainfall during this period. However, some districts may receive light rain due to local weather conditions.
Temperature will increase in the next four days
With the rain activities remaining weak, the temperature of the state is also expected to increase. The maximum temperature may increase by about 2 degrees Celsius during the next few days.
There may be fluctuations in temperature between clouds and sunshine. Due to less rainfall, there is a possibility of increase in day temperature in many areas.
Less chances of widespread rain in next six days
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is less possibility of widespread rain in Himachal Pradesh during the next six days. However, some districts like Shimla, Chamba, Kangra and Sirmaur may receive localized light to moderate rain.
The weather in the rest of the state may be mainly partly cloudy with intermittent sunshine. In such a situation, weak monsoon conditions are likely to persist in the state for the next few days.
