Dehradun T20 League: Selaqui Strikers become champions, defeat Mussoorie Thunders

The final match of Dehradun T20 League 2026 was played on Wednesday (9 September), in which Selaqui Strikers defeated Mussoorie Thunders by 39 runs to capture the trophy. The title match at Abhimanyu Cricket Academy, Dehradun was played in 16-16 overs due to rain. When invited to bat first, Selaqui Strikers scored a mountain-like score of 192 runs at the loss of 3 wickets and then achieved the distinction of becoming the first champion team of this league by bowling out Mussoorie Thunders for 153 runs.

This batsman scored an explosive century

Selaqui Strikers, who came to bat first after losing the toss, did not have a special start but wicketkeeper batsman Vijay Sharma rained fours and sixes on the field, due to which Selaqui Strikers could reach a big score. Vijay Sharma played an explosive inning of 103 unbeaten runs with the help of 5 fours and 12 sixes in just 31 balls. Apart from him, captain Piyush Joshi contributed 27 runs and Sanskaar Rawat contributed 28 runs. Anmol Shah, Shubham Naithani and Anshul Kumar took 1 wicket each for Mussoorie Thunders.

Chasing the target of 193 runs, Mussoorie Thunders lost the wickets of both their openers for 9 runs. After this, Anmol Shah (28 runs), captain Akhil Singh Rawat (32 runs) and Jonty (29 runs) tried to bring the team back into the match by playing aggressive innings but Selaqui bowlers took wickets at regular intervals.

For Selaqui Strikers, Nishu Patel and Siddharth Gupta bowled lethally and took 3-3 wickets, while Priyank Singh and Abhay Chettri got 1-1 success. Due to the united performance of the bowlers, Selaqui Strikers all out Mussoorie Thunders in 14.4 overs and won the first season.

Following the successful completion of the tournament, individual awards were presented to the best performing players, with the players of Selaqui Strikers making a splash. In the entire tournament, Piyush Joshi (Selakui Strikers), who scored 193 runs in 5 innings, became the best batsman, while Priyank Singh (Selakui Strikers), who took 13 wickets in 6 innings, was awarded the title of Best Bowler. Apart from this, Anshul Kumar (Mussoorie Thunders), who took 8 wickets in 3 innings, was declared the Emerging Player of the Tournament and Priyank Singh (Selaqui Strikers), who had an excellent all-round performance of 13 wickets and 24 runs, was declared the Player of the Tournament.
