National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has sent notices to both the players in the alleged dressing room leak case. NCCIA is conducting forensic and technical investigation of the mobile phones of both the players. According to the report of Geo News, PCB has confiscated the phones of both the players and handed them over to the concerned authorities. Reports also say that the investigation also includes aspects of financial transactions of the players as well as alleged leaking of information from the dressing room of the Pakistani team.
Information-reports were leaked from the dressing room
Actually, Pakistan cricket team is currently on England tour where a three-match test series is being played between the two teams. In the middle of this series, Pakistan Cricket Board released 7 players of the team and sent them home. The names of Mohammad Rizwan and Imam ul Haq were also included in these players. According to media reports, information was leaked from the team’s dressing room during the series. After which the players’ phones were confiscated. However, PCB has not yet given any official statement regarding the investigation.
NCCIA’s focus on financial matters
According to sources, the main focus of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency’s investigation is on the financial matters related to Mohammad Rizwan and Imam Ul Haq. The financial activities of both the players are being investigated before and after the start of the Test series against England. The transactions made from the bank accounts of both the players during these respective periods are also being reviewed. Apart from this, alleged payments made by any company, person or organization have also been kept under investigation.
Digital data also examined
According to reports, during the investigation, digital data obtained from the mobile phones of both the players is also being analyzed, which includes messages, contacts and other digital information. According to sources, this data is being linked to the financial activities of both the players. Along with this, information allegedly leaked from the dressing room of Pakistan team is also being investigated.
