New Delhi: Today marks 25 years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks in America. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered those who lost their lives in the attack and expressed condolences to their families. Along with this, PM Modi has also reiterated India's stand against terrorism by posting on social media platform 'X'.
Terrorism took people's lives
PM Modi said that "Today the world is remembering the people who lost their lives in that horrific attack that took place 25 years ago." Expressing solidarity with the families of the victims, he said that "Terrorism has taken the lives of countless people in different parts of the world." Apart from this, while referring to India, the Prime Minister said that as a country facing cross-border terrorism, India has been at the forefront in this fight for a long time. He said that the method and threat of terrorism may be changing, but India's opposition to all its forms remains the same as before. Along with his post, PM Modi also shared some photos from his visit to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in New York in 2014.

Four planes were targeted
About 3,000 people died in the terrorist attack on America on September 11, 2001. Let us tell you, Al-Qaeda had planned this attack and Osama bin Laden was considered its main conspirator. During this period, 19 terrorists had hijacked four passenger planes.
Two of these planes hit the twin towers of New York's World Trade Center, after which both the buildings collapsed. The third plane hit the Pentagon, the US defense headquarters near Washington, and the fourth plane fell in an open area in Pennsylvania. The passengers on board this plane had tried to stop the terrorists.
Memorial built in memory of the attack
The 9/11 Memorial has been built at the same place where the World Trade Center buildings were in New York. Here, two big water reservoirs have been built in place of the twin towers. These are called 'Reflecting Absence'. This memorial has been built in memory of those killed in the 9/11 attacks. People coming here are also given information about that attack and the people who lost their lives in it.
