National Award winning actor Manoj Bajpayee has shared his old memories related to the film ‘Veer-Zaara’. He told that even though his work in this film was small, this experience was very special for him. The biggest reason for this was the film’s director Yash Chopra. Manoj Bajpayee always wanted to work with Yash Chopra and ‘Veer-Zaara’ fulfilled his dream.
Manoj Bajpayee told that he had shot for ‘Veer-Zaara’ for about three days. Of these, one day was shot in Film City and two days in Amritsar. He shot two-three sequences of his own in the film. According to the actor, despite the short time, the experience of working on the set was very good for him. This occasion was also memorable for him because he was in front of the camera under the direction of Yash Chopra.
Yash Chopra’s honesty won hearts
Manoj Bajpayee told that Yash Chopra had talked to him very honestly. He had clearly said that he does not make films keeping in mind actors like Manoj. Manoj liked this candor of Yash Chopra.
He said that he liked the way such a big and prestigious director expressed his views openly without any false promises. He said that it was a great pleasure for him to spend a few days with Yash Chopra and work under his direction.
A special party was organized for Manoj in Amritsar.
Manoj Bajpayee also remembered Yash Chopra’s hospitality. He told that Yash Chopra had organized a party for him one evening in Amritsar. He told the people present there that Manoj was his guest and everyone should attend the party.
Manoj said that at that time he did not have much expectations from his role, because it was Yash Chopra’s film, it had a big star like Shahrukh Khan and the audience was eagerly waiting for the film.

‘Veer-Zaara’ was a love story based on the backdrop of India and Pakistan. Despite the role being small, his character was important in the story of the film. His character’s name is Raza who is the fiance of Preity Zinta’s character Zara.
