New rules for leave of teachers implemented in Bihar, read complete details

Patna. The process of taking leave of teachers in government schools of Bihar has now been made completely online. Under the new system implemented from August 15, offline leave applications will not be accepted. To take leave, it will be mandatory for teachers to apply on the e-Shikshakosh portal.

Online application for all types of leave

The new system will be applicable to teachers and principals working in primary to higher secondary schools. All types of leaves including earned leave, maternity leave, medical leave and child care leave will have to be applied for through the portal.

Digital record of both application and approval

After the teacher applies online, its approval will also be done through digital medium only. It will also be necessary to enter the order for sanction of leave on the e-Shikshakosh portal. With this, records related to leave will be available online and the department will be able to monitor them.

Ban on taking offline applications also

The District Education Officer has instructed the Block Education Officers and heads of schools to strictly follow this rule. School heads have been asked to inform teachers about the new system and not to accept offline leave applications.

The purpose of this change is to make the leave process of teachers transparent as well as to create a digital record of all applications.
