Joey King found herself at the center of plastic surgery speculation following her appearance at fashion’s biggest night on May 4.
Now, the 27-year-old actress has come forward and cleared the rumours during a September 11 episode of Owen Thiele’s podcast In Your Dreamssaying, “I didn’t get a facelift.”
While the 27-year-old insisted she “didn’t get work done” ahead of the Met Gala, she did share the beauty tricks behind her dramatically different appearance.
“I’m glad we’re talking about this (because) what I did do; I got a spray tan,” the Practical Magic 2 actress revealed. “And then I did a 36-hour fast. No food, nothing but water, which I don’t promote that.”
“What happened was I was at a bachelorette party the weekend before and I was looking swollen and I was drinking a lot,” Joey went on to share. “I looked busted. And I was like, ‘I gotta do a reset. I’m going to do a 24-hour fast.'”
The Kissing Booth star said the fast can be “good for you to do once a month,” provided a person is healthy enough for it.
“And then by the time I woke up and ordered lunch the next day, it wound up being like 36 hours and everything,” she added.
Joey further shared her beauty tricks ahead of the event sharing that she got a “lymphatic massage” and a facial.
“We were doing everything we could to look amazing on the carpet,” Joey told the Adults star. “And guess what? It worked because everybody thought I had plastic surgery, but I didn’t.”
