Nauman Ijaz says son Zaviyar may not play him in a biopic

Veteran Pakistani actor Nauman Ijaz has opened up about the possibility of a biopic based on his life and revealed why he does not consider his son, Zaviyar Nauman, the right choice to portray him on screen.

Nauman Ijaz is one of the most respected names in Pakistan’s television industry. Over the years, he has earned widespread recognition for his powerful performances and ability to bring complex characters to life. His notable dramas include Fishaar, Dasht, Nijat, Bhai, Ullu Baraye Farokht Nahi, Dampukht, Man O Salwa, Main Mar Gai Shaukat Ali, Kaisi Teri Khudgharzi, Parizaad, Bashar Momin, Dunk, Mayi Ri, Bismil, and Sharpasand.

The actor continues to remain active in the industry and is currently working on an upcoming drama serial alongside actress Nadia Afgan.

Recently, Nauman Ijaz discussed his career, personal journey and possible biopic during a podcast appearance. During the conversation, the host asked him who he thought could play him if a film or drama about his life were ever made.

The host suggested that his son Zaviyar Nauman could be an obvious choice because of their family connection and physical resemblance. However, Nauman did not agree with the suggestion and gave a straightforward response.

“I don’t think Zaviyar can play my biopic,” the veteran actor said.

His response sparked curiosity about who he would prefer to portray him if his life story were ever adapted for the screen.

The host then mentioned Hollywood star Denzel Washington as another possibility and asked Nauman whether he would consider him suitable for the role.

Nauman responded positively while praising the American actor’s talent. He described Denzel Washington as a great actor and recalled watching one of his clips in which the Hollywood star spoke about gratitude and appreciating the blessings in his life.

According to Nauman, Washington had shared that he wakes up, looks upwards and thanks the Creator for his blessings. The Pakistani actor compared the practice to the way Muslims offer prayers and suggested that people should make a habit of expressing gratitude every day.

While discussing the idea of a biopic, Nauman Ijaz also made it clear that he is not certain whether his life story will ever be turned into a film or television project.

The actor said he does not even know whether a biopic about him will ever be made. However, if such a project does happen, he believes he would have to be involved in telling his own story because of the experiences he has gone through throughout his life.

Nauman revealed that his journey in the entertainment industry was far from easy. He recalled facing numerous struggles, particularly during his early days when he worked as a junior artist.

He explained that he experienced difficult circumstances and what he described as cruelty during that period. Those experiences, he said, have remained in his mind even after achieving success and becoming an established actor.

Reflecting on his past, Nauman emphasized that his life has been challenging and serious. He suggested that people should not take life casually because everyone goes through struggles that can leave a lasting impact.

“I have seen so many struggles in life, and my life was very tough,” he said while recalling his early experiences.

Nauman Ijaz’s comments offer a glimpse into the difficult journey behind his successful acting career. Although he remains unsure about whether a biopic will ever be made, his remarks suggest that his life story would include much more than his achievements in the entertainment industry.

For now, the actor continues to focus on his upcoming projects, while his honest comments about his past have once again drawn attention from fans and viewers.
