New Delhi, 13 September 2026: A contingent of Assam Rifles had seized a large quantity of weapons during an operation conducted near the India-Myanmar border in Chandel district of Manipur. The seized weapons include three 'Pompey' guns, six single-barrel rifles, three carbines, two lathode guns, two grenades and two IEDs as well as ammunition.
Meanwhile, under the Civic Action Programmes, Assam Rifles provided livelihood support to 'Senjenpokpi United Welfare Club' based at Erengbam in Kakching district of Manipur by donating 22 sewing machines worth Rs 2 lakh. The objective of this initiative is to promote tailoring business as a skill for income generation, self-reliance and economic empowerment in the local community.
