Monsoon has once again become active in the western part of Madhya Pradesh. It rained in many areas of Indore, Ujjain and Gwalior divisions on Sunday. Rivers and drains were in spate in Barwani, dam gates had to be opened in Tikamgarh.
Today on Monday, a warning of heavy rain has been issued in seven districts including Ujjain. Due to the effect of active low pressure area and trough in the state, the rainy season is likely to continue in the western districts.
According to the Meteorological Department, three monsoon systems are active in the state. These also include troughs along with low pressure areas. Due to their effect, the intensity of rain has increased in Indore and Ujjain divisions which had relatively less rainfall till now.
On Sunday, rain was recorded in many districts including Indore, Morena, Ratlam. Rivers, drains and ponds remained in spate in Sendhwa area of Barwani. The biggest pond of the district overflowed in Ralavati.
Torrential rains also occurred in Maksi of Shajapur, Petlavad of Jhabua, Kasravad of Khargone and Khandwa. After heavy rains in Tikamgarh, four gates of Ban Sujara Dam were opened. The hill river of Lakhadeh remained in spate in the forest area of Harda. Heavy rain also occurred in Mhow, Omkareshwar and Ratlam.
Heavy rain in these 7 districts on Monday
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in Ujjain, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Rajgarh, Guna and Sheopur on Monday.
Apart from this, Bhopal, Raisen, Sehore, Vidisha, Indore, Dhar, Alirajpur, Burhanpur, Barwani, Khandwa, Khargone, Jhabua, Agar-Malwa, Shajapur, Dewas, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Datia.
Light to heavy rain is expected in Ashoknagar, Morena, Bhind, Jabalpur, Katni, Chhindwara, Seoni, Narsinghpur, Balaghat, Mandla, Dindori, Pandhurna, Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Mauganj, Maihar, Shahdol, Umaria, Anuppur, Sagar, Panna, Damoh, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh and Niwari.
The intensity of rain will reduce after September 15
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in different parts of Western Madhya Pradesh on September 14 also. According to him, the rain of September 13 cannot be considered an isolated incident.
While the low pressure area moves towards Rajasthan-Gujarat, its impact may persist in the districts of Western Madhya Pradesh. However, the intensity and extent of rain is expected to gradually reduce after September 15.
In the forecast for the next seven days, there is a possibility of heavy rain at some places and light rain at other places in Western Madhya Pradesh.
Rainfall still below normal in 32 districts
The picture of rainfall data in the state is still not completely normal. In Jabalpur, Rewa, Sagar and Shahdol divisions of the eastern part, rainfall is 1 percent less than normal.
Balaghat, Chhindwara, Dindauri, Damoh, Jabalpur, Katni, Narsinghpur, Pandhurna, Mandla, Rewa, Sagar and Seoni have recorded 2 percent to 25 percent less rainfall than normal.
However, these figures have improved significantly in the last one week. Due to heavy rains and flood like situation in many districts, the rain deficit of the eastern part reduced rapidly.
For the first time in the season, this part had reached a better position in the figures, but by Sunday again a decrease of about 1 percent was recorded.
On the other hand, Alirajpur, Ashoknagar, Betul, Dewas, Dhar, Harda, Indore, Jhabua, Khandwa, Mandsaur, Morena, Narmadapuram, Neemuch, Barwani, Raisen, Ratlam, Sehore, Shajapur, Ujjain and Vidisha in Western Madhya Pradesh have received 7 percent to 52 percent less rainfall than the average.
More than average water in 23 districts
In some districts of the state, rainfall figures have reached above normal. Anuppur, Chhatarpur, Maihar, Mauganj, Niwari, Panna, Satna.
More than average rainfall has been recorded in Shahdol, Sidhi, Singrauli, Tikamgarh, Umaria, Agar-Malwa, Bhind, Bhopal, Burhanpur, Datia, Guna, Gwalior, Khargone, Rajgarh, Sheopur and Shivpuri.
