Chitrakoot. In Chitrakoot, efforts to give new life to the Saryu River, which had become completely extinct due to concrete traps and illegal encroachment, have started again. The administration is now taking the help of modern science to find the old water stream of this historical river. Let us inform that here the joint team of Revenue Department, Municipality and Joint Area Development Authority has started a hi-tech scientific survey to trace the route of the river.

The river's boundary will be decided with modern technology
Officials have said that GNSS Rover and satellite technology is being used in this mega survey. Let us tell you that this technology prepares data about the exact structure and topography of the land through satellite signals. With this, a correct and accurate map of the ancient flow area of the river and its actual boundaries can be prepared. When the survey is completed, the river land will be demarcated by placing pillars. Due to which illegal encroachment in Ramghat and surrounding areas can be completely stopped in future.
Chitrakoot's 'Triveni Sangam' will come alive
According to mythological and religious beliefs, the Saryu river originating from the Kamadgiri mountain region is about five kilometers long. It used to go to Raghav Prayagghat and join Mandakini river. Payashwani river also met at this place, forming a sacred Triveni Sangam. With time, this confluence was also affected due to the complete extinction of Saryu river. Through this scientific survey the old waterway of the river will be discovered. Along with this, those closed natural water sources related to it will also be identified which once used to provide it water.

Mandakini river will benefit
Let us tell you that with the success of this project, not only will a lost heritage of Chitrakoot be returned, but the Mandakini River will also directly benefit from it. With the resumption of the water flow of Saryu, the water crisis in Mandakini river will be resolved and its flow will remain strong throughout the year.
