Samson's name registered in the record book, made a place in the special club of Rohit-Rahul

Delhi: India's wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson batted brilliantly in the second T20 International match against Afghanistan. In the match played on Tuesday at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Samson played a quick inning of 57 runs in just 22 balls. During this innings, he also completed his 1000 runs as an opener in T20 International. With this, Samson became the fifth batsman for India to score 1000 or more runs as an opener in T20 International.

Started the innings in great style

Batting first, Afghanistan scored 159 runs in 20 overs. Chasing the target, the Indian team needed a fast start and Samson fulfilled this responsibility well. As soon as he came on the field, he started attacking the Afghan bowlers.

Samson scored 57 runs in just 22 balls. His innings included 7 fours and 4 sixes. His fast batting gave India a strong start in the run chase. During this innings, he also completed his 1000 runs in T20 International as an opener.

Joined in Rohit-Rahul's special club

Samson has now become one of the few Indian batsmen who have scored more than 1000 runs while opening in T20 International. At the top of this list is former Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Rohit has scored 3750 runs in T20 International as an opener.

After him comes the name of KL Rahul, who has scored 1826 runs. Shikhar Dhawan is in third place with 1759 runs, while Abhishek Sharma has scored 1726 runs as an opener. Samson has now reached fifth place in this special list with 1026 runs.
