Mumbai: The shooting of Ranabaali, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, has been completed. The makers announced the wrap on September 17, unveiling a new poster featuring the lead pair as the period drama heads towards its worldwide theatrical release on October 16, 2026.
Backed by Mythri Movie Makers and directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Ranabaali brings Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna together on screen once again. The actors will portray the characters Ranabaali and Jayamma, respectively.
The film has been attracting attention since its announcement, with the makers gradually building anticipation through character posters, songs and glimpses.
New poster marks shoot completion
To mark the completion of principal photography, the makers unveiled a monochrome poster featuring Vijay and Rashmika in period costumes.
Vijay appears as Ranabaali in an intense avatar, while Rashmika is seen as Jayamma alongside him. The poster offers a glimpse of the film’s historical setting and the contrasting personalities of its two central characters.
Sharing the update on social media, the makers announced that Ranabaali and Jayamma would meet audiences in 29 days while officially beginning the countdown to the theatrical release.
The post read: “Ranabaali & Jayamma will meet you in 29 DAYS Shoot wrapped up! Countdown to witness spectacular cinema begins #Ranabaali GRAND RELEASE WORLDWIDE ON 16.10.26.”
The completion of the shoot means the film can now move ahead with its post-production work as the makers prepare for the final promotional phase.
Vijay and Rashmika in period avatars
Ranabaali is set against a historical backdrop and explores the conflict between righteousness and tyranny.
The period setting marks a different visual space for Vijay and Rashmika, who have previously shared screen space. Their reunion in Ranabaali has been one of the aspects generating curiosity around the project.
