The biggest hero of India’s victory was Abhishek Sharma. The left-handed opener completed his century in just 30 balls. He played an explosive inning of 108 runs in 34 balls, which included 9 fours and 11 sixes. His strike rate was 317.65.

With this inning, Abhishek took the record of the fastest century by an Indian batsman in T20I. He left behind Rohit Sharma’s record of century in 35 balls.

Samson also scored a half century
Along with Abhishek, Sanju Samson also batted fast. The Indian wicketkeeper-batsman scored 50 runs in 35 balls, which included 2 fours and 4 sixes. With the aggressive batting of both, India scored more than 200.

Afghanistan’s lowest T20I score against India
In reply to 221 runs, Afghanistan’s innings ended at 94 runs. This is Afghanistan’s lowest score in T20Is against India. Earlier his lowest score was 111/8 in Asia Cup 2022 in Dubai.
