New Delhi. The process of 8th Pay Commission for central employees and pensioners is progressing. The Commission is holding meetings with employee organizations, pensioners' groups and other concerned parties in Chandigarh from 16 to 18 September 2026. In these discussions, suggestions related to salary, allowances, service conditions and pension are being considered.
What discussion on salary and pension?
Employee organizations are demanding changes in fitment factor, dearness allowance, HRA and other allowances along with the new pay structure. Pensioners' organizations are also placing issues related to pension and family pension before the Commission. The Commission will consider these suggestions while preparing its recommendations.
How much will the salary increase?
At present, it is too early to say how much the salary or pension will increase after the 8th Pay Commission. The final figure on fitment factor and new pay scale will be clear only after the recommendations of the Commission and the decision of the Central Government.
When does the commission have to submit its report?
