There is a new twist in Disha Salian Case. Disha’s father Satish Salian has sent a defamation notice of ₹ 500 crore to Aditya Thackeray and Anil Deshmukh and demanded an apology within 7 days.
Disha Salian Death Case: Once again a major development has come to light in the case of late Disha Salian’s death. Disha’s father Satish Salian has sent a defamation notice of ₹500 crore to Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray and former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. The notice demands both the leaders to withdraw the statements allegedly given by them and publicly apologise. Both have been given 7 days to reply.
Why was notice of ₹500 crore sent?
Satish Salian alleges that the demand for a fresh investigation into his daughter’s death was politically motivated through the statements of Aditya Thackeray and Anil Deshmukh. He says that this damaged his image and his demand for justice.
According to reports, the notice demands damages of ₹500 crore along with a public apology and withdrawal of the alleged statements.
What did Aditya Thackeray say?
Aditya Thackeray has denied the allegations after his name appeared in the FIR in the Disha Salian case. He said that he had never met Disha Salian and termed the allegations against her as a politically and personally motivated campaign.
After this, a defamation notice has been sent by Satish Salian. The notice also raised objection to Thackeray’s stance that his demand for investigation was allegedly motivated by political motives.
Anil Deshmukh also under notice
Notice has also been sent to former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. Satish Salian has also objected to his statements. According to the notice, these comments have been alleged to have created a misconception regarding Disha’s father’s demand for investigation.
Disha Salian died in 2020
Disha Salian died on 8 June 2020 after falling from a building in Mumbai. She was the former manager of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. About six days after his death, on 14 June 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput also died. For the last several years, different claims and questions have been coming forward regarding both the incidents.
Disha’s father had approached the Bombay High Court demanding a fresh investigation into the case.
CBI registered FIR, mentioned many names
Following the instructions of the Bombay High Court, CBI has started investigation by registering an FIR in the case of Disha Salian’s death in September 2026. The names of many people including Aditya Thackeray are mentioned in the FIR. However, the mere presence of a person’s name in the FIR does not in itself prove a crime and during the investigation the CBI will examine the role of the people concerned and the evidence available.
In this case, Aditya Thackeray has rejected the allegations leveled against him and has denied any relation with Disha Salian. Now the ₹500 crore defamation notice has added a new legal twist to this entire matter.
