During the Special Intensive Revision of Voter List (SIR) in Delhi, a special campaign is being run to add those eligible people to the voter list who face difficulty in applying in the normal process. Special camps will be organized in 13 districts of Delhi on September 23 and 24 for homeless people, transgenders and sex workers.
Camps will be held from 5 pm to 9 pm
These special camps will run from 5 pm to 9 pm. The camps will be organized at night shelters and other identified places of DUSIB. Booth Level Officer (BLO) will be present here, who will assist the eligible people in the application process to get their names registered in the voter list.
Lack of documents is a big challenge
Providing documents related to permanent address and family records often poses a major challenge for homeless people. At the same time, the verification process can also be affected due to lack of identity and address proof. The purpose of the special camps is to directly reach out to such people and provide them with information about the application and necessary procedures.
NGOs will reach out to transgenders and sex workers
The help of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working in the relevant areas will be taken to provide information about the camps to transgenders and sex workers and to connect them with the application process. As per need, the process related to filling forms and documents will be explained to the people.
You will be able to apply through Form-6 till 30th September
According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, if an eligible general resident of an area is eligible, his name can be included in the final voter list. Eligible people will get the opportunity to claim name addition through Form-6 till 30th September. Physical forms will also be accepted along with online applications.
