What is the new rule?
If you give information about the birth of a child or death of a person after 1 year and before 2 years, then its registration will be done only on the orders of DM, SDM or Executive Magistrate authorized by the District Magistrate. According to the new rules, if you delay the registration of birth and death certificates by more than 2 years, then the work will not be done at the district level. Its registration will be done only on the orders of Judicial Magistrate First Class. This simply means that if you get a birth certificate or death certificate made after more than two years have passed, you will have to make rounds of the court for this.

What will happen if the new rule comes into force?
