The country’s major oil marketing companies (OMCs) like Indian Oil (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) have released the daily revised prices of petrol and diesel at 6 am today. There is partial variation in fuel rates in different districts of Uttar Pradesh on the basis of ongoing fluctuations in international crude oil prices and local state value added tax (VAT) and freight charges. Fuel prices are trading at stable levels in most of the cities of the state including the capital Lucknow, industrial city Kanpur, Noida-Ghaziabad adjacent to the National Capital Region and the religious city Varanasi of Purvanchal. Before going to the petrol pump to fill fuel in your car, it is important to know the exact price of your city.
Due to lower transportation costs in the National Capital Region (NCR) of Uttar Pradesh, adjacent to Delhi, prices remain slightly affordable compared to other interior cities of the state:

Noida and Greater Noida: In Gautam Buddha Nagar district, the price of petrol remains in the range of around ₹94.66 to ₹94.85 per litre, while diesel is being sold around ₹87.76 to ₹87.95 per litre.

Ghaziabad: In Ghaziabad, petrol was recorded at ₹94.65 per liter and diesel at ₹87.75 per liter.

Fuel rates today in major metros of Central Uttar Pradesh and Awadh region are as follows:

Lucknow (capital): The average price of petrol at the pumps of the capital Lucknow remains at ₹ 101.86 to ₹ 101.89 per liter and diesel at ₹ 95.36 per liter.

Kanpur city: In urban areas of Kanpur, petrol is available in the range of ₹ 101.81 per liter and diesel in the range of ₹ 95.30 to ₹ 95.36 per liter. Whereas in Kanpur Dehat, petrol has been recorded at around ₹ 102.04 per liter.

Prayagraj (Allahabad): In Sangam city Prayagraj, petrol is being sold at around ₹ 102.01 to ₹ 102.20 per liter and diesel at around ₹ 95.50 to ₹ 95.65 per liter.
In other divisions of Uttar Pradesh, a slight difference is being seen in the prices of petrol and diesel depending on the distance and freight cost from the depot:

Varanasi (Kashi): Petrol price in Varanasi is around ₹102.62 per liter and diesel is around ₹96.05 per liter.

Gorakhpur: In the city of Baba Gorakhnath, 1 liter petrol is being sold at the level of ₹ 101.95 to ₹ 102.10 and diesel at ₹ 95.40.

Agra and Meerut: In Tajnagar Agra, petrol was recorded around ₹101.54 per liter and diesel around ₹94.85 per litre, while in Meerut, petrol was recorded around ₹101.70 and diesel around ₹94.95 per litre.

Sultanpur and Firozabad: The cheapest petrol in the state was recorded at around ₹101.39 per liter in Firozabad region and the most expensive at around ₹103.50 per liter in Sultanpur district.

‘Dynamic Fuel Pricing’ system is in force in India since June 2017. Under this, new prices are decided daily at 6 am by reviewing the foreign currency exchange rate (position of rupee against dollar) and the average price of crude oil in the international market for the last 15 days. In this, the retail selling price (RSP) for the common consumer is determined by adding the excise duty of the central government, VAT of the state governments, margin of oil companies and commission of petrol pump dealers.
