19 Arrested Over Ticket Black Marketing: Delhi Police has taken major action against black marketing of tickets during the recently played three-match T20 series between India and Afghanistan. During a special operation conducted in the areas around Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Delhi Police arrested 19 people in connection with illegal sale of tickets. According to reports, Rs 7,400 in cash along with 71 match tickets were recovered from the possession of the accused.

Actually, Delhi Police launched a special operation during the India vs Afghanistan Friendship Cup T20 matches. The main objective of this campaign was to crack down on illegal sale and re-selling of tickets. Let us tell you, 13 FIRs were registered regarding black marketing of tickets, after which Delhi Police came into action. The police arrested 19 accused during this action.
Police confirmed illegal sale of tickets
According to Delhi Police, the accused were trying to sell the tickets obtained at low prices to the spectators at many times higher prices. During this operation, the police kept intelligence, secret surveillance and confirmed illegal sale of tickets by posing as decoy i.e. fake customers. DCP Rohit Rajbir Singh said that the police had received inputs that some people were trying to buy cricket match tickets at low prices and sell them to spectators at very high prices, after which a special team was formed.
Police operation lasted for 3 days
To prevent black marketing of tickets, this campaign was conducted by the police on 13 September, 15 September and 17 September, these are the same dates when the matches between India and Afghanistan were played. A day after the first match, i.e. on 14 September, 4 FIRs were filed, in which a total of 5 accused were arrested. 29 tickets and Rs 3,400 were recovered from these accused. After this, on September 15, maximum 10 accused were caught, from whom 31 tickets and Rs 4000 were recovered. On September 17, four accused were arrested from whom 11 tickets were recovered.
