Independent candidate Piyush Jaiswal of Chhattisgarh has achieved a historic victory in the student union elections 2026 of the prestigious Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sandhya College of Delhi University. Piyush Jaiswal, a resident of Bemetara and the youngest famous student scientist and researcher of the country, has won the election for the post of Joint Secretary unilaterally by contesting the elections as a completely independent candidate without joining any big political party. He hoisted the flag of victory by defeating his rivals by a record-breaking 674 votes.
This is the first time in the history of Delhi University that a student from Chhattisgarh has won such a big victory on his own, without any party banner, just on the basis of his inspiring speech style and strong leadership.

This amazing talent of Piyush Jaiswal (son: Pyare Lal Jaiswal, Principal – DAV Bemetara) is not new, rather its foundation was laid in Chhattisgarh itself. His name is recorded in the Golden Book of World Records for science research at the youngest age. Apart from this, he has received more than 75 international, national and provincial honors including Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Award, Young Scientist Award in Chennai, Delhi, Bal Shrestha Award in Delhi and Kalachuri Gaurav Ratna Award in Delhi from the society.
