Do you know that Mahabharat, aired on Doordarshan, is not his only popular show, but 25 years ago, he had brought such a horror serial, after watching which children did not leave the room alone. Not only this, when someone had to go to the toilet, he used to go with a group of friends.
25 years ago we used to sweat while watching horror shows
At a time when the makers had brought a fictional horror show like Aahat on Sony TV, at the same time, BR Chopra's show inspired by a true story came on Doordarshan, which gave people sleepless nights. The name of the show was Aapbeeti, which came in the year 2001. There is no imaginary story in Aapbiti, rather the makers used to find true stories from across the country and scare the audience by showing them.

Aapbiti used to run on Doordarshan every Saturday from 9:30 pm to 10:30 pm, which was scary to watch, but its true stories forced people to close one eye and watch the scary scenes. The makers had planned the show in such a way that they watched half the episodes on one Saturday and were anxious to see the further story on the other weekend.
What was the biggest feature of the horror show Aapbeeti?
The biggest feature of the show Aapbeeti aired on Doordarshan was its horror music and powerful opening. The title track of the show was 'Yeh Aapbiti Hai'. The show opened with the rustling of tall trees and leaves in a completely deserted forest. Its opening soundtrack itself was so powerful that it would leave anyone in stitches. At that time many people also claimed that when shooting took place on the sets, strange incidents used to happen on the sets.
While Aapbiti, one of Doordarshan's most popular shows, was produced by BR Chopra, it was directed by his son Ravi Chopra. The title track of this show was sung by Dr. Neha Rajpal. However, in the year 2024 its time was changed from 10 to 11. After Mahabharata, this was BR Chopra's most popular show on Doordarshan.
