New Delhi. This time again Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has won the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections. ABVP candidates have won the posts of President, Secretary and Joint Secretary. Yash Dabas of ABVP has been elected the new President of DUSU after winning the election. Whereas, ABVP's Riya Chhawadi was victorious on the post of Secretary and Lakshya Raj Singh was victorious on the post of Joint Secretary. Independent candidate Dipanshu Shaukeen won the post of Vice President. Dipanshu was earlier seeking ticket from NSUI but after not getting the ticket from there, he contested the election as an independent candidate and won.

During the counting of votes, a tough contest was witnessed between ABVP and National Students Union of India (NSUI) for the post of President. In the initial trends, ABVP candidate Yash Dabas was ahead but there came a time in between when NSUI's Vijay Shankar Meena took the lead, however by the 18th round the situation had become clear and Vijay was lagging behind again. Yash Dabas said on his victory that this is the victory of students, victory of harmony, patriotism and union. This is the victory of every student who stood with us in this struggle, who remained associated with us for the last many years and stood shoulder to shoulder with us.

DUSU Vice President Dipanshu Shaukeen said, I will try to live up to the trust that the students of the university have shown in me. This time a total of 19 candidates were in the fray for four major posts, out of which 7 candidates were in the fray for the post of President, 5 for the post of Vice President, 4 for the post of Secretary and 4 for the post of Joint Secretary. This time no candidate will be able to take out a victory procession because the Delhi High Court has already banned taking out the victory procession. In last year's elections, ABVP's Aryan Mann won the post of president. Kunal Choudhary of ABVP won the post of Secretary and Deepika Jha won the post of Joint Secretary. Rahul Jhansla of NSUI was elected vice president.
