Nagoya, Sept 19:
Athletics will form one of the largest components of India’s campaign at the Asian Games 2026, with 75 Indian athletes listed for the competition.
Athletics events will be held from September 23 to 29 at the Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium and Race Walk Course. The Indian squad includes established names such as Tajinderpal Singh Toor, Neeraj Chopra, Avinash Sable, Sreeshankar and Parul Chaudhary, among others.
The programme includes track and field events ranging from sprinting and middle-distance races to jumps, throws, race walking and combined events. The Athletics Federation of India has listed India’s entries and competition schedule ahead of the athletics programme.
Toor will enter the men’s shot put as the two-time defending Asian Games champion, while Sreeshankar, Sable and several other Indian athletes will also be among the names attracting attention during the athletics competition.
