India defeated Japan in the quarter finals. They faced Bangladesh in the semi-final. Batting first, India set a target of 196 runs against Bangladesh. Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan
In the semi-final, Sri Lanka faced Pakistan. Pakistan team could not survive against Sri Lanka at all. Pakistan team scored 177 runs losing 4 wickets. Sri Lanka easily reached the target losing only 2 wickets. Chamari Atapattu scored 83 not out. With this victory, Sri Lanka has also made a strong entry into the finals. Sri Lanka is now assured of a minimum silver medal.
