News Desk: Big work is going to start in Bareilly district regarding the roads damaged during the rains. The provincial division of the Public Works Department has proceeded with the construction and repair of 33 roads at a cost of about Rs 87 crore. The department is now busy completing the tender process for awarding the contract.
Under the scheme, along with repairing the damaged roads in different areas, new roads will also be built as per the need. The department has set a deadline of two to seven months to complete the projects. After the completion of the tender process, work on the ground is expected to start from next month.
Both city and village areas will benefit
The proposed works also include several rural link roads along with urban roads. About Rs 79.54 lakh has been approved for the construction of road from Deendayal Upadhyay Gate to Municipal Corporation Zone-3 office in Suresh Sharma Nagar. A project worth about Rs 1.85 crore has been approved for the road from Ashutosh City to the culvert behind Fun City. Many connectivity routes in rural areas have also been included in the scheme. Works like construction of road from Dond ki Gautiya to Rampur border, Jarpa Mohanpur, Lakhimpur-Malukpur and Parsakheda Gautiya to Navodaya Vidyalaya are proposed.
Crores will be spent on many major routes
About Rs 3.63 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of the Senthal-Jadaupur road to Pachpeda canal road, Rs 3.09 crore for the Dharampur to Aspur Hasanali road and about Rs 2.14 crore for the road from Haldi to Rampur border. Apart from this, construction work will also be done on Gayatri Nagar road, Joharpur-Sanaiya Rani Mevkunwar road and other rural connectivity roads.
Construction will start after tender
According to Bhagat Singh, Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, the work will be started after the completion of the tender process. The department says that quality will be taken care of during construction and efforts will be made to complete the projects within the stipulated time.
