New Delhi. Recently, bank employees had gone on a one-day strike. Now the bank employees union has announced a strike for three consecutive days. Bank employee unions have said that their members will be on strike from September 28 to 30. The proposed strike of bank employees is for three days, but there will be no work in banks for two days even before that. That means banks will remain closed for full five days including the strike of employees. However, the Finance Ministry is trying to continue operations during the bank employees' strike. If you have work in the bank, then definitely complete it by 25th September.
September 26 is the fourth Saturday of the month. Banks will remain closed on this date. At the same time, there will be a holiday in banks on 27th September due to Sunday. After this, if there is a three-day strike by the employees, then work in banks will be disrupted till Wednesday 30th September. State Bank of India (SBI) has told its account holders through social media posts that it is trying its best to provide necessary banking services during the strike period, but those who have accounts should do the necessary work before the strike dates. SBI has said that the cash requirement should be met through ATM and ADWM. Use the Customer Service Center, apart from this the account holder can use Internet Banking, YONO App, Mobile Banking, UPI etc.
United Forum of Bank Unions has demanded implementation of five days work a week. Recently, there was a one-day strike in banks under this demand. Bank unions have warned that if their demands are not accepted by the government, then bank employees may go on indefinite strike. However, after September 30, banks will resume operations from October 1. Then there will be a holiday on 2nd October for Gandhi Jayanti. Banks will open on 3rd October and will remain closed on 4th October due to Sunday. Banks will also remain closed on the second Saturday of October 10 and Sunday of October 11. There will be a holiday in banks in some states on Dussehra on 20th October. Whereas, banks will remain closed in West Bengal, Assam and Tripura on Vijaya Dashami on 21st October. There will be a bank holiday on the fourth Saturday of 24th October and Sunday of 25th October.
