Moscow: Ukraine has launched a massive overnight drone assault on Russia, with more than 1,000 drones reportedly targeting multiple locations, including hundreds heading towards Moscow. Authorities reported damage to the Moscow Oil Refinery and a residential building following the attack. In the wider Moscow region, officials said two people were killed and 20 others were injured.
Regional Governor Andrei Vorobyov said the victims included a 74-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman. Emergency response teams were deployed as authorities assessed damage and carried out security operations in affected areas.
Ukraine did not immediately release details about the reported operation. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy later indicated that Kyiv had used a combination of missiles and drones to strike Russian military-related targets, including oil and logistics facilities.

Russia's Ministry of Defense said its forces destroyed around 1,100 Ukrainian drones across Russian territory, Crimea and the Black Sea region.
