Vrindavan: Radhashtami Mahamahotsav was celebrated with reverence, devotion and gaiety at Chandrodaya Temple. On the occasion of the appearance day of the presiding deity of Braj, Goddess Shriradharani, the Mahabhishek of Shriradha-Vrindavan Chandra was performed in the temple amid the chanting of Vedic mantras. A large number of devotees participated in the organization of Phool Bangla, special adornment, Jhulan Utsav, Chhappan Bhog, Harinam Sankirtan and Aarti.
Temple decorated with flowers and lights, Thakurji's consecration took place
On the occasion of Radhashtami, the temple premises were decorated with attractive floral decorations and electric lights. Amidst Vedic mantras, Thakurji was anointed with Panchamrit, fruit juices, aromatic liquids, medicinal materials and flowers. After this, Shriradha-Vrindavan Chandra was adorned with silk clothes and jewellery. There was a crowd of devotees to see the flower decorated bungalows and Jhulan Utsav in the temple.
Radharani was described as the supreme expression of pure love.
Temple President Chanchlapati Das said that Shri Radharani is the supreme expression of the divine power and pure love of Lord Shri Krishna. In Gaudiya Vaishnav tradition, Radharani has been considered as Mahabhava form. He said that serving Shri Radha and following her footsteps leads the devotee towards pure devotion and selfless love of Shri Krishna. It is only by the grace of Guru and Shri Krishna that a living being attains the path of devotion.
Temple complex immersed in devotion with Harinam Sankirtan and bhajans
During the festival, Akhand Harinam Sankirtan and Bhajan evening took place in the temple premises. The entire complex was immersed in devotion due to the collective chanting of Mahamantra. During the Jhulan Utsav and special aarti, the temple echoed with the chants of Radhe-Radhe. Devotees from various states including Mathura, Agra, Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Faridabad and Gurugram took darshan and participated in the Aarti and wished for happiness, peace and devotion to Shri Krishna.
