'Karur Vysya Bank has increased interest rates', EMI may be affected, loan will become costlier from September 22

New Delhi. If your loan is running from Karur Vysya Bank, then there is very important news for you. This bank has increased its key lending rates. These new rates will be applicable from 22 September 2026. The bank has increased all major MCLR tenures by five basis points i.e. 0.05 percent.

After this decision of the bank, overnight and one month MCLR has increased from 9 percent to 9.05 percent. Whereas three month MCLR has increased from 9.15 percent to 9.20 percent, six month MCLR has increased from 9.30 percent to 9.35 percent and one year MCLR has increased from 9.40 percent to 9.45 percent. Apart from this, the bank has increased the base rate by 20 basis points. It has increased from 11 percent to 11.20 percent. At the same time, BPLR has also been increased from 16 percent to 16.20 percent. Let us tell you that these changes will also be effective from September 22.

What will be the impact on your EMI?

If your loan is linked to the respective benchmark and its reset date falls after this change, your EMI may increase due to the interest rate increase or the loan tenure may also get extended. However, its impact will depend on each customer's loan type, outstanding amount, interest rate and reset terms. That means, from September 22, loans may become expensive for some borrowers of Karur Vysya Bank.
