With a record-breaking career spanning over four decades and being a part of thousands of iconic songs, Sameer Anjaan is one of the most successful and prolific lyricists of Bollywood. Sameer, who penned many big chartbusters of the 90s and 2000s, has struck a perfect balance of emotions and commercial appeal through his songs, due to which he has remained the favorite lyricist of filmmakers of different generations.
One of the funniest moments during the conversation was when Sameer recalled director David Dhawan's candid reaction after the release of the iconic title track of 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'. Sameer laughed and said, “The first song that was released from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was 'Tum Paas Aaye, Yun Muskuraye'. David Dhawan heard that song. He called me and said, 'You have written a very dirty song, man. Don't write such a song in my picture' (laughing)! I asked him, 'Is it a song from your picture? Why are you getting upset? Let it go.' He said, 'The songs of my film have also been released. If you haven't finished the music of that film, then tell me!'”
