Country singer Ella Langley has broken a longstanding record of music icon Mariah Carey with her single Choosin’ Texas.
The song has become the longest-running number one single in US chart history.
Previously, the record was held by Mariah’s iconic holiday song All I Want for Christmas Is You.
The Christmas anthem previously held the spot for 23 weeks.
Ella’s song was released in October 2025 but didn’t hit the top 10 until January.
The tune made it to number one on the US Billboard chart for the first time in February.
The young singer celebrated the feat with a video shared on her Instagram.
She said ”I’m genuinely trying to find the words to explain what’s going on in my brain today.”
“What? I don’t know. Thank you so much. Thank you for loving this song, for listening to it. I feel like… I just don’t even know what to say at this point.”
Ella added that she has not fully accepted the achievement as it has not fully sunk in yet.
The hit song is co-written by Ella with Luke Dick, Miranda Lambert and Joybeth Taylor.
