New Delhi:Now, if any dangerous object like suspected explosive or bomb is found in the capital Delhi, there will be less need for policemen to go straight to the point of danger. In order to further strengthen the security system with the help of technology, a state-of-the-art remotely operated robotic vehicle was demonstrated at the Delhi Police Headquarters. This special vehicle can take the place of policemen in sensitive situations and help in handling the suspicious object and taking it to a safe place.
Where there is danger, the robot will reach there first
During the demonstration, it was told that this remote operated vehicle is capable of lifting weight ranging from 8 kg to 50 kg. In such a situation, if a suspected bomb, explosive or any other dangerous object is found in any public place, road, market, building or other sensitive area, trained policemen can control it from a safe distance.
The most important aspect of this technology is that humans can be saved from coming in direct contact with the suspicious object during actions like initial investigation and moving it from one place to another. That is, where even a small mistake can prove fatal, efforts can be made to reduce the risk by sending the machine forward.
First machine, then human – a new formula for security
The biggest challenge after a bomb or suspected explosive is found is the safety of the policemen and common people present on the spot. In such cases, the bomb disposal squad has to act very carefully. Robotic vehicles can prove to be an important step towards reducing this challenge through technology. Being operated remotely, policemen can control the vehicle by staying at a safe distance. As per requirement, it can be sent near the suspicious object and its grasping and lifting capabilities can be used. This can help reduce the possibility of police personnel coming into direct risk during sensitive operations.
Demo held at Delhi Police Headquarters
DCP Praveen Kumar Tripathi of Special Cell and his team inspected the functioning of the robotic vehicle during the demo organized at Delhi Police Headquarters. The team looked at the vehicle's handling capability, weight carrying capacity and its potential use in emergency situations. During the demonstration, it was also explained how this remotely controlled vehicle can be transported to sensitive places and can be used to handle suspicious objects if needed.
Technology knocks in place of danger
In a metropolis like Delhi, security related challenges are constantly changing. From suspicious objects left in public places to items suspected to be explosives, the police have to act with utmost caution on every information. In such a situation, the use of modern technology can be helpful in further strengthening the response capacity of the police. The use of robotic vehicles may be particularly important in situations where approaching a suspicious object is risky for police officers. The machine can be sent ahead and an attempt can be made to safely handle the object at the initial stage, while trained personnel can monitor the entire operation from a safe distance.
