A sensational case of murder and brutality of a 60-year-old woman has come to light on Wednesday night in a village in Mohanlalganj area of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. It is alleged that after the woman was gang-raped, she was attacked with a brick on her head and strangulated to death. After this, brutality was also done to the dead body. On the complaint of the deceased's son, the police have registered an FIR against two youths of the village under sections of gang rape and murder and arrested both of them.
DCP Southern Mohd. According to Mushtaq, the villagers saw the woman around 11 pm on Wednesday night. Hearing her scream at around 1 o'clock in the night, a young man who had gone out to defecate raised an alarm. When the villagers reached the spot after hearing the sound, the elderly woman was found in a semi-nude condition among the bushes in an empty plot about 20 meters away from the house. On receiving information, Mohanlalganj police and other officials reached the spot. Police called the forensic team. The panel of doctors conducted the post-mortem of the woman in the presence of a forensic expert. In this, murder by strangulation was confirmed. Injury marks were also found at many places on the body. Doctors have prepared slides to investigate the rape.

Eyewitness saw both the youths running away
According to the police, an eyewitness had seen the two youths running away from the scene. He told the police that one of the youths was half naked. During the investigation, the police found one of the two youths lying on the ground in an intoxicated state at some distance. He was taken into custody and interrogated. After interrogation, the police also arrested two other youths. All three were interrogated for several hours. After this, an FIR was lodged against two youths on Thursday morning on behalf of the deceased's son. Police have arrested both of them while the role of the third youth is being investigated.
Dispute while drinking alcohol, then woman attacked
Initial investigation has revealed that the accused were drinking alcohol while sitting with the woman. During this time there was a dispute regarding some matter. It is alleged that after a dispute, the woman was assaulted and then gang-raped and murdered. One of the accused also committed brutality with the dead body. According to the police, among the arrested accused, one is a laborer by profession and the other is married.

According to family members, the elderly woman used to live in a semi-built house of a farmer in the village and take care of him. He has three sons and two daughters. The sons live separately while both the daughters are married. The daughter of the deceased told the police that her mother had come to her maternal home only three days ago. About 12 years ago, his father was also strangled to death while sleeping. An FIR was registered in that case but till now the police has not been able to reveal the murder of his father.
