In the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions team event, the Indian team of Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar, Rudraksh Patil and Neeraj Kumar displayed precise shooting and added a silver medal to India’s account. Showing consistency in the qualification and team events, the Indian shooters hoisted the tricolor on the podium by securing the second position. Soon after this, the pair of Kamaljeet and Suruchi won the gold medal in the mixed event.

Kamaljeet, resident of Sulkha, Rewari, Haryana, is an Indian pistol shooter, who is an expert in 10 meter air pistol and 50 meter pistol. He started shooting in 2019, after an injury forced him to give up his track-and-field athletics career. Coming from a middle-class family, Kamaljeet faced financial problems in the initial phase of his shooting career. He managed his own expenses for coaching, course fees and competitions and at times even thought of quitting the sport. Despite these difficulties, his parents constantly supported him and gave him whatever he needed to move forward. Over the next two to three years, his dedication helped him overcome financial and sporting difficulties and establish himself as a competitive shooter. Kamaljeet made a strong mark in the junior international circuit, winning gold in the 50m pistol junior main event at the 2023 ISSF Junior World Championships in Changwon, Korea.
Suruchi Inder Singh (born 28 April 2006) is an Indian 10 meter air pistol shooter from Jhajjar, Haryana. Due to his family’s strong sporting background, he was initially encouraged to try his hand at wrestling, after which he took up shooting at the age of 13. He started training under coach Suresh Singh at Guru Dronacharya Shooting Academy in Bhiwani. Suruchi made a major breakthrough on the senior international circuit in 2025, winning three consecutive individual ISSF World Cup gold medals in Buenos Aires, Lima and Munich. He also won gold in the mixed team event at the Lima World Cup. Her stellar 2025 season culminated with a gold medal win at the ISSF World Cup Final in Doha, where she set a junior world record of 245.1 in the 10m air pistol final. In 2026, she continued her great form by winning gold at the ISSF World Cup in Munich, making her one of India’s top international 10m air pistol shooters. He also won silver in the 10 air pistol mixed team event at the 2026 Asian Championships.
Neeraj Kumar, born on 21 January 2000, is a specialist in the 50 meter rifle 3 positions event. He has become one of India’s leading rifle shooters with his consistent performances at the international level. Neeraj has represented India in many ISSF World Cups, ISSF World Championships and Asian Championships, due to which his world ranking has continuously improved and he has made his place among the top competitors of the world in this event. He is currently ranked among the top 15 shooters in the world in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions event. Neeraj won his first senior ISSF World Championship medal with a team bronze medal at the 2022 ISSF World Championships in Cairo. He continued his progress by winning medals at the Asian Championships, including an individual silver medal at the 2026 Asian Rifle/Pistol Championships in New Delhi, where he also contributed to India’s team gold.
Rudranksh Balasaheb Patil was born on 16 December 2003 in Thane, Maharashtra. He is a specialist in the 10 meter air rifle event and is one of the best rifle shooters in India. He rose to international prominence after winning the gold medal in the men’s 10m air rifle at the 2022 ISSF World Championships in Cairo, becoming the second Indian after Abhinav Bindra to win an individual world title in this event. The win also secured India an Olympic quota for the Paris 2024 Games. Rudranksh has represented India in the ISSF World Championship, ISSF World Cup, Asian Championship, Asian Games and Paris 2024 Olympic Games. A multiple-time ISSF medalist, Rudrank has won two World Championship gold medals, one Junior World Championship medal, one ISSF President’s Cup title, three ISSF World Cup gold medals and several medals at the Asian Championships. His stellar performances in 2022 have seen him ranked world No. 1 in the men’s 10m air rifle event and he remains one of the top rifle shooters in the world. Aishwarya was born on 3 February 2001. He is one of the well-known rifle shooters of India, who is a specialist in the 50 meter rifle 3 positions event. Tomar, a resident of Ratanpur village in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh, started shooting after seeing his cousin and Olympian Navdeep Singh Rathore. He started formal training at Madhya Pradesh Shooting Academy, Bhopal in 2015. Tomar rose to fame in 2019 after winning gold at the ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhal, where he set a junior world record in the 50m rifle 3 positions event. The same year, he won bronze medals in both individual and team events at the Asian Shooting Championships, earning India an Olympic quota. She continued her impressive rise by winning gold at the 2021 ISSF World Cup in New Delhi and another gold with a junior world record at the 2021 ISSF Junior World Championships in Lima, Peru. Aishwarya has represented India in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions event at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Over the years, he has established himself as one of India’s most capable rifle shooters, winning multiple medals at the ISSF World Cup, ISSF World Championship, Asian Championship, Asian Games and other major international competitions, making him an important member of the Indian shooting team.
