The big strike called by the employees of government banks has increased the tension of the customers. Amidst this proposed strike, the country's largest bank i.e. SBI has taken a big decision for its customers, which is going to provide great relief to the general public.
The strike will last from 28th to 30th September
Many organizations associated with employees working in government banks have called for a nationwide strike between 28 and 30 September. Due to this three-day strike, there is a strong possibility that banking operations across the country will be badly affected. Necessary steps are being taken continuously to ensure that the general public does not face any inconvenience.
SBI made ATM usage absolutely free
SBI has made it clear that all the branches of the bank will remain open from 28th to 30th September, although due to the strike of the employees, the work may not run smoothly like normal days. Keeping in mind the convenience of the customers in this difficult time, State Bank of India has informed on the social media platform 'X' that during this period the use of ATM of any bank of the country will be completely free. SBI customers will not have to pay any extra fee on any transaction, so that people can easily withdraw their money. Along with this, the bank has also advised the customers to complete all their important and pending work on time before the strike starts.
Government order and strong opposition from organizations
To reduce the impact of this upcoming strike, the government has issued instructions to keep all the banks across the country open like normal days on 27th September, i.e. Sunday. However, this decision of the government is being strongly opposed by the employee organizations. Representatives of organizations like NOBW, NOBO and AIGBWO have met the Finance Secretary to discuss various issues and have expressed strong objection to the decision of opening banks on Sunday. According to reports, huge pressure is being put on the government by the organizations to withdraw this decision. As an alternative to this, a demand has also been made that employees working on Sunday should be given two days' salary and one day's additional leave.
