India's squash player Abhay Singh booked his place in the men's singles squash final of the 2026 Asian Games with a resounding 3-0 (11-3, 12-10, 11-6) victory over Pakistan's Muhammad Irfan on Saturday.
On the other hand, Anahat has also reached the women's singles squash final. She became the first Indian woman athlete to reach this far. Both Abhay and Anahat have won gold medals and are on the verge of directly qualifying for the Los Angeles Olympics 2028.
World No. 26 Abhay Singh has become the second Indian men's player to reach the Asian Games men's singles final after Sourav Ghoshal. Sourav Ghoshal won the silver medal in 2014 and 2023.
Abhay's dominance over Pak players
Abhay laid the foundations for this impressive victory by winning the first set 11-3 against Irfan. Irfan defeated India's Veer Chhotrani in the quarter finals on Friday. He was defended by Abhay. The Pakistani made a brief comeback in the second set to take the score to 10-10, but Abhay showed his composure to take the set 12-10 to extend his lead to 2-0.

Pakistani player's challenge even in the final match?
The third set was similar to the first set. Abhay made four match points in his favor in the beginning. He hit straight into the final without giving Irfan any chance of a comeback. Now he might face a Pakistani player in the final. Because Noor Zaman will face Malaysia's Ein Yow Ng on Saturday evening.
Earlier, Anahas Singh made a brilliant comeback by defeating Japan's world number six Satomi Watanabe 3-2 (9-11, 11-13, 12-10, 11-6, 11-3) to book her place in the women's singles final.
After losing the opening two games 9-11 and 11-13, the 18-year-old Indian made a stunning comeback in the third game. At one point she was trailing 8-10, but saved game points to win 12-10.
