If you’ve ever really, really needed to make a Costco run but just couldn’t find the time to browse the aisles, the retailer’s partnership with Uber Eats might be just what you need. Back in 2024, Uber and Costco teamed up to offer delivery—now that access is expanding from 17 to 47 states.
This expansion includes more than 600 Costco locations, so there is a good chance your local Costco is part of the new initiative, per an Uber press release. Delivery options will include on-demand and scheduled delivery options, so you can pre-plan your groceries or get what you need when you need it. Fresh items, like produce and dairy, as well as bulk groceries and household essentials are included in the delivery options.
But expanded delivery isn’t the only piece of good news: If you’re not yet a Costco member, you can purchase a Costco membership directly through Uber Eats and receive 30% off your first eligible Costco order. And if you’re new to the service, the press release states that “shoppers can get 20% off their first three $60+ Costco orders on Uber Eats, up to $25 off each.”
In an age where grocery prices always seem to climb, a 20% discount can be an exciting boon. And for gift-givers—or just delivery lovers—Uber and Uber Eats gift cards will be available at participating Costco locations and online at a price of $79.99 for a $100 value for a limited time as part of the new promotion.
And there’s one more perk for existing Costco members—they can get a 50% discount on an Uber One membership for their first year, followed by 20% off in subsequent years. Uber One is a monthly or yearly membership option which offers additional discounts on Uber rides and Uber Eats orders. Uber One members have no fees on eligible grocery and retail orders over $60, which would be a pretty easy threshold to reach if you buy some of your usual Costco staples at once.
Since most major grocery chains and big box stores like Walmart, Target and others already have delivery options, it makes sense that Costco would be eager to expand their delivery capabilities, and we’re eager to take advantage of the deals.
