In the women's 400 meters race, Bahrain's Salwa Eid Nasser set a Games record by winning the gold medal in the final of 49.20 seconds. Whereas Iran's Zahara Jari Manojan (52.38 seconds) won silver. South Korea's Seoyeon Kim finished fourth, while India's Kiran finished fifth with a timing of 53.41 seconds.
Animesh Kujur secured his place in the 200m final by finishing second in the semi-finals with a timing of 20.81 seconds. Thailand's Puripol Boonson set a new Games record by completing the race in 20.10 seconds, while Kujur finished second behind him. After failing to make the final of the men's 100m race, the Indian sprinter has now reached the 200m medal race.
India also secured two berths in the final of the men's 1,500 meters race. Gulveer Singh and Yunus Shah qualified from their respective heats. In Heat 2, Gulveer finished third with a timing of 3:45.79. Younis also finished third in Heat 1 with a timing of 3:45.77. Both these Indian athletes will participate in the men's 1500 meter final race, which will be held on Monday.
The Indian women's cricket team had opened its account of gold medal in the Asian Games 2026, after which Kamaljeet and Suruchi Singh won the gold medal in the 10 meter air pistol mixed team event. India's men's and women's Kabaddi teams have won gold medals in this edition.
The Indian women's Kabaddi team won the gold medal by winning 37-34 against Iran on Saturday. A few hours later, the Indian men's Kabaddi team won 40-34 in the final against Iran.
