India has performed brilliantly in the men's javelin throw event at the Asian Games 2026. India has won two medals in this event. Yashveer Singh won the silver medal, while Rohit Yadav won the bronze medal. Yashveer threw 85.72 meters, which is his personal best performance. At the same time, Rohit Yadav won the bronze medal by throwing the javelin 84.35 meters.
Sri Lanka's Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage won the gold medal with a throw of 88.55 metres. He achieved this distance in his last attempt. Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem finished fourth with a best throw of 80.29 metres.

Yashveer turned the game in the last throw
Yashveer started the event with a throw of 83.56 meters and remained in the top-3 throughout the match. Before the final round he was in third place. In the last attempt, he improved his personal record by throwing 85.72 meters and captured the silver medal. This throw by Yashveer directly took him to second place.

Rohit confirmed the medal in the third attempt
Rohit Yadav started with a throw of 77.25 metres. In the second attempt he threw 82.40 meters and in the third attempt he threw 84.35 meters. On the basis of this performance he achieved third place. Rohit's last attempt resulted in a foul but the distance of 84.35 meters achieved in the third attempt was enough to take him to the podium. In this way India won both silver and bronze medals in the same event.
Pathirage won gold in the last attempt
Pathirage started with a throw of 73.53 metres. In the fourth attempt he took the lead with a throw of 88.33 metres. After this, he secured the gold medal by throwing 88.55 meters javelin in his last attempt.

With the double podium in javelin, India's Asian Games medal tally has reached 45. These include four gold, 20 silver and 21 bronze. India is at 12th place in the medal table. Athletics has added a total of 19 medals to India's account so far.
