Sahil's father Ravindra Wakode, while talking to IANS, said, “The people named in the FIR should be arrested. Until this demand of mine is met, the hunger strike will continue. The investigation is being done properly, but my demand is that the police should collect evidence as soon as possible and arrest the accused.”
He also said that the family has recorded their statement during interrogation to the crime branch and has also given necessary information to assist in the investigation. The family has faith in the crime branch's investigation, but they want the action to be expedited. Sahil's mother Sonali Wakode pleaded for justice. He said, “The accused should be arrested as soon as possible, this is our demand. I want justice for my child.”
Advocate Nikhil Kamble, representing the family, said, “Sahil's family is on hunger strike at Azad Maidan. Their only demand is that those named in the FIR should be arrested.”
Regarding the progress of the investigation, the lawyer said that the crime branch is currently investigating the case and it can give better information about the status of the investigation. He said, “We hope that the crime branch is investigating properly. This protest will continue until the accused are arrested.”
Regarding permission for the protest, Advocate Kamble said that as per the instructions of the High Court and the GR of the Maharashtra Government, one has to apply for permission daily for the protest. He said that if the protest is being carried out in a peaceful manner, permission can be given on a daily basis.
