New Delhi. Poonam Dhanda, who served as a social scientist member of the Institutional Ethics Committee of Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital, was given a heart-felt farewell at the end of her tenure. During the farewell ceremony, the committee members shared their experiences of working with him and recalled his social perspective and active involvement on ethical issues related to health and research.
In recognition of Poonam Dhanda's contribution, she was awarded a certificate of appreciation by Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The certificate presented by the Committee Chairperson, Member Secretary and the Director of the hospital appreciated his dedicated and invaluable contribution as a member of the Institutional Ethics Committee. The atmosphere became emotional during the farewell.
Committee members said that Poonam Dhanda played an important role in connecting social concerns with moral discussions during her responsibility. Their experience and active participation in the discussions gave a social perspective to the committee's discussions. On this occasion, Poonam Dhanda said that this farewell received from the committee family is a very emotional and memorable moment for her.
Working as a social scientist member was an important journey of learning and gaining new experiences for him. She said that this role gave her the opportunity to bring social perspective to the ethical debate related to health and research. Poonam Dhanda expressed her gratitude to all the members of the committee and said that she is leaving from here with gratitude, close relationships and many beautiful memories. The committee members wished him a bright future and said that his contribution and cooperation will be remembered for a long time.
