Delhi News: The traffic police has intensified action against roadside encroachment and wrongful parking in Delhi. Northern Range Traffic Police along with the Municipal Corporation team conducted joint operations in many areas. During this time, action was taken against those who parked vehicles violating the rules on the road and illegal encroachments on the roadside were removed.
During the campaign, challans were issued to 634 people who parked their vehicles incorrectly. Apart from this, 192 roadside vendors were removed. The team also cleared 37 encroachments. During the action, 24 vehicles parked against the rules were towed, while 5 vehicles were confiscated.
Action against those occupying the road
A joint team of traffic police and municipal corporation conducted a campaign at those places where the road was being blocked by keeping goods on the roadside. Apart from this, road space was also decreasing due to street vendors and wrong parking of vehicles.
Due to such activities on the road, drivers face difficulty in passing. At the same time, it becomes difficult for even pedestrians to pass on the side of the road. At many places, people have to walk near the main road because part of the road is covered with goods or vehicles.
Goods were also confiscated
During the campaign, the Municipal Corporation team also removed the material being used for encroachment on the road. The team seized eight carts from the spot. Apart from this, three display boards, three tables and three counters were also captured.
According to officials, the aim of the campaign is to improve the traffic system on the road and make the road easier for the common people. Traffic is affected in many areas due to wrong parking and roadside encroachment. In such a situation, the road space is being vacated through joint action of the traffic police and the Municipal Corporation. During the campaign, the officials also appealed to the drivers and shopkeepers not to park vehicles or goods on the road, so that the traffic remains smooth and pedestrians do not face any problem in commuting.
