A young man was beaten to death late on Tuesday night in Madanpur police station area of Aurangabad district of Bihar. 30-year-old Vikas Kumar was found in critical condition near the fish market at around 10 pm. The deceased is said to be the son of Jitendra Gupta, resident of Kachari Road. According to the information, Vikas was recovered in a half-dead condition from the house of Dilip Soni, owner of Soni Alankar Jewellers. The police was taking him to Sadar Hospital for treatment but he died on the way. After the incident, there is an atmosphere of tension in the area and a crowd of people gathered.
As soon as information about the incident was received, Madanpur police station reached the spot and arrested five people. Two jewelers owners are also among those arrested. The police have taken everyone into custody and started questioning. The family members of the deceased are in bad condition and crying. He has demanded strict punishment for the accused.

Young man found injured in jewelers house
According to the information received, there was a commotion near the fish market of Madanpur police station area at around 10 pm. People saw that a young man was beaten up in the house of Dilip Soni, owner of Soni Alankar Jewellers. The young man was lying inside the house in a half-dead condition. There were serious injury marks on his body and he was drenched in blood. The police, who reached the spot after receiving the information, recovered him and immediately started taking him to Sadar Hospital but he died on the way. The deceased has been identified as Vikas Kumar, 30, son of Jitendra Gupta, resident of Kachari Road.
It is being told that Vikas had earlier also had a dispute regarding coming and going in this house. On Tuesday night he again entered the house after which the accused beat him up. After the beating, his condition deteriorated and he died. The police have taken the body into their custody and sent it to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
Family members told that Vikas was a little mentally weak and often wandered here and there at night. Even 1-2 days ago, he had entered the house of the accused late at night. At that time the police had released him after persuading him. The family members say that even if he had entered the house, he should have informed the police and he should not have been murdered.
Five accused arrested
As soon as information about the incident was received, Madanpur police station reached the spot and arrested five people. Those arrested include Engineer Prince Kumar Verma, Pradeep Kumar Verma, owner of Ravi Jewellers, Nikhil Kumar Verma, Dilip Verma and Nikhil Kumar, owners of Soni Alankar Jewellers. The police have taken all the accused into custody and started interrogation.
Sadar SDPO Aditya Kumar told that Vikas Kumar had entered the house of the accused late at night 1-2 days ago. At that time the police had released him after investigation. On Tuesday night, he again entered the house, after which the accused beat him up and he died. He said that all the accused have been detained and the matter is being investigated.
SDPO said that prima facie the case seems to be a fight over entering the house but the police is investigating from every angle. Whether this is a case of theft or old rivalry is also being investigated. The mobile and other things of the deceased are being examined. Police have also collected some evidence from the spot.

There was a dispute regarding entering the house
Local people said that there are many jewelers' shops in Madanpur market and incidents of theft also happen at night. Therefore, jewelers owners remain conscious about the security of their home and shop. They were angry with Vikas Kumar repeatedly entering the house and hence he was beaten up.
There is an atmosphere of tension in the area after the incident. A crowd of people gathered in Madanpur market and police have deployed force in the area to avoid any untoward incident. The relatives of the deceased and the local people are demanding strict punishment for the accused. The family members say that even though Vikas had entered the house, killing him was wrong and the accused should not have taken the law into their own hands.
Police said that the matter is being investigated from every angle. Post mortem of the dead body is being conducted and the exact cause of death will be known after the post mortem report comes. After post-mortem the body will be handed over to the relatives. Police said that a case of murder has been registered against the accused and further legal action is being taken. There is an atmosphere of concern in the Jewelers Association after the incident.
