According to the victim’s complaint to the police, he left home on Monday for physiotherapy and informed his father about the same. He then went for a walk with his future wife to Mahuadih Hill in Sherghati Police Station area, as their marriage was fixed. When he reached the hill, some youths present surrounded him. The accused first started misbehavior in the name of interrogation and when the couple resisted, they were beaten up. Apart from this, the accused took away the keys of the bike and also removed the air plugs from the tires so that they could not escape from there.

8 booked with detention of 4 minors

As soon as the video of the incident went viral on social media, the police took serious note of the matter. The police immediately conducted an investigation to identify the youth seen in the video. Based on technical clues and videos, the police have detained 4 minors, while the search for the other 4 suspects is on. The police have also seized the mobile phone used to record the video. Police are now investigating when the video was made, who shot it and how it was spread on social media platforms.

Further investigation intensified after the arrest of 4 accused

Rumors are also rife locally that some youths run a social media group or ID called “Aryan” and this viral video is also suspected to have originated from the same group. However, the police have not officially confirmed this yet. Guyana Senior Superintendent of Police Sushil Kumar said that an in-depth investigation into the viral video and the entire incident has been conducted. Police have named 8 people including 4 minors as accused, out of which 4 have been arrested and raids are being conducted to nab the remaining accused.
