Jaguar Land Rover has launched its most awaited Range Rover Sport Electric in India and its bookings have also started. This is the first fully electric version of the Range Rover Sport. The SUV is powered by 2 electric motors, all-wheel drive and a 118.5 kWh battery. This SUV produces a maximum power of 550 PS and 850 Nm of torque. The company has claimed a range of up to 609 km as per the WLTP method.
In terms of power, this electric SUV is quite aggressive. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph takes just 4.5 seconds. The charging capability is also strong thanks to the 800V electrical architecture. Charging up to 350 kW can be done with the help of DC fast charger. Charging from 10 to 80% takes around 22 minutes, while a 10-minute charge can provide a range of up to 220 km.

In terms of range, the company claims a WLTP range of 609 km, but the estimated real-world range could be up to 535 km. A full charge takes about 7 hours at 22 kW AC charging. Apart from this, the SUV has a water-wading capacity of 900 mm and a climbing ability of up to 45 degrees.
The chassis of the car has also undergone major changes thanks to the electric powertrain. Body stiffness has been increased by 61% and the center of gravity has been lowered by 73 mm. Features like Dynamic Air Suspension, Adaptive Dynamics, Twin Valve Dampers, Active Roll Control and All-Wheel Steering are provided. Off-road capability has also been retained.

ThermAssist technology and liquid cooling system have been used for battery temperature control. The company has tested the battery in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 90°C. The battery will get a warranty of 8 years or up to 1,60,000 km. Remote monitoring of battery health can also be done with the help of Digital Twin technology.
The Range Rover Sport Electric will come in 4 trims namely Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE, Autobiography and First Edition. The SUV will be produced at the Solihull plant in the UK. The electric model will also get different alloy wheels, an aerodynamic grille and a special electric sound signature
