Commercial LPG cylinder becomes expensive before festive season, price crosses Rs 2800 in Delhi

Tezzbuzz Desk- Before the beginning of the festive season, the prices of commercial gas cylinders have increased once again. Petroleum companies have increased the price of commercial LPG by Rs 71.50. The price of commercial gas cylinder in Delhi has increased by Rs 62.50 to Rs 2,810. There has been no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders.

Talking about major cities of the country, commercial gas cylinder has become costlier by Rs 71.50 in Patna. Its price in Chennai has increased by Rs 66.50 to Rs 2,983. Whereas in Mumbai, the price of commercial LPG has increased by Rs 63 to Rs 2,764. For the first time since July, the price of commercial gas cylinder in Delhi has crossed the level of Rs 2,800. There are indications that due to the increase in the price of commercial LPG, the prices of restaurant food and sweets will also be affected during the festive season.

There is currently no change in domestic LPG prices. Domestic gas cylinder is available for Rs 942 in Delhi, Rs 968 in Kolkata, Rs 941.50 in Mumbai and Rs 957.50 in Chennai. The price of domestic gas cylinder was last increased in June.

At the same time, approval has been given to continue the subsidy of Rs 300 on 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder for the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in the financial year 2026-27. Subsidy on 5 kg cylinder will be given in the same proportion. A total of Rs 12,001 crore will be spent on this.

According to Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, LPG supply to India continues despite conflict in West Asia and disruption in traditional energy routes. Domestic LPG production was increased by 28 per cent within five days of refineries being directed to increase production in March 2026.
