For the first time, Delhi Police entered the All India Police Body Building Competition and captured the overall winner trophy.

New Delhi:With the responsibility of security of the capital in one hand and the passion to win medals for the country in the other… when the soldiers in khaki stepped onto the sporting stage, their hard work wrote history. The Delhi Police personnel, who took charge against the criminals, demonstrated their strength, discipline and passion even on the body building stage in such a manner that the overall winner trophy went to Delhi Police in the very first knock.

Khaki duty in duty, strength of arms on the stage, Delhi Police flag in the very first knock

The 75th All India Police Body Building Competition was organized from 23 to 27 September 2026 at the Police Complex in Madhuban, Haryana. This competition was organized by the All India Police Sports Control Board. In this prestigious competition held among the players of various police forces and security forces across the country, Delhi Police fielded its body builders for the first time. Despite entering the competition for the first time, the players of Delhi Police gave such a performance that the entire stage echoed with applause. Delhi Police created history by winning one gold medal, two bronze medals and the overall winner trophy.

Narendra Yadav won gold in 100 kg weight category

Delhi Police head constable Narendra Yadav, who is currently posted at Dwarka Crime Branch, gave a strong performance in the 100 kg weight category and won the gold medal. His brilliant achievement made the Delhi Police operation historic. Narendra Yadav's performance not only made Delhi Police proud at the individual level but with his gold medal the team also captured the overall winners trophy.

Kuldeep and Mohammad Shahid also showed their strength

Delhi Police Head Constable Kuldeep performed brilliantly and won the bronze medal in the 100 kg weight category. While Head Constable Mohammad Shahid, who is posted at Delhi Police Headquarters, won the bronze medal in the 85 kg weight category in a brilliant display of his strength and fitness. This success of the three players added a new chapter in the sports history of Delhi Police.

Practice did not stop even after 12 years of hard work and duty

Behind these medals is not just a few days of preparation for the competition but about 12 years of penance, hard work and continuous practice. It was not easy to sculpt the body along with the responsibilities of duty, do regular exercises, maintain fitness and prepare oneself for the level of competition. But these soldiers proved that if the intentions are strong then the responsibility of uniform does not become a wall in the way of passion for sports.

Khaki duty during the day…
Sweaty practice after duty…
And then on the stage, a battle for medals for the country and Delhi Police.

It is this spirit that brought Delhi Police the top honor at the All India level in its very first participation.

Morale increased under the guidance of DCP 2nd Battalion Sandeep Vyala

Under the supervision, guidance and encouragement of DCP Sandeep Byala of the 2nd battalion of Delhi Police, the players got continuous encouragement in practice and preparations for the competition. The cooperation and guidance of the concerned officials including in-charge Azam Khan also strengthened the preparation of the players. Senior officials congratulated the medal winning players on their wonderful achievement and appreciated their hard work, discipline, dedication and determination.

Khaki gave the message of duty, fitness and victory too.

This achievement of Delhi Police personnel is not limited to only three medals. This is a picture of the thinking in which policemen are being given the opportunity and encouragement to progress in the field of sports and fitness along with duty. When the name of Delhi Police was called on the stage, it was not only the victory of the players, but also the victory of the spirit of thousands of policemen who remain engaged in the security of the capital day and night. On one hand, the responsibility of law and order… on the other hand, hard work to steel the body. On one hand, competition with criminals… on the other hand, challenge to rivals in the sports arena. And when the result came, the trophy was in the name of Delhi Police.
