Bus-trailer accident in Ambedkar Nagar, 4 killed, only one of the dead identified

Ambedkarnagar. A tragic road accident took place on Gorakhpur Link Expressway in Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh early Friday morning. Four passengers died, while three people were injured in a massive collision between a Volvo bus and a trailer in Jaitpur police station area. As soon as information about the accident was received, the police reached the spot and started relief work.

The accident happened at 5:30 in the morning

According to the police, information about the accident of a Volvo bus and a trailer was received at kilometer number 85 of Gorakhpur Link Expressway through UP-112 at around 5:30 am on Friday morning. As soon as the information was received, Jaitpur police team immediately reached the spot. While doing relief work, the police took the injured to Trauma Center and District Hospital, Akbarpur.

Doctors declared four passengers dead during treatment in the hospital. Three seriously injured passengers have been referred to Medical College, Saddarpur for better treatment.

The bus was going from Delhi to Darbhanga

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the Volvo bus that was the victim of the accident belonged to TEGRA EXPRESS and was going from Delhi to Darbhanga. According to the police, prima facie the driver is suspected to have caused the accident due to his dozing in the morning. However, the actual causes of the accident are being investigated.

Identification of three injured

The passengers injured in the accident have been identified as Sumit Mishra (28), son of Chandra Bhushan Mishra, resident of Raghun Kothi, Bihar, Sumit Anand (40), son of late Yogeshwar, resident of Darbhanga, Bihar and Rinku Kumari (45), resident of Muzaffarpur Nagar, Bihar.

Sachin Kumar, son of Ravindra Kumar, resident of Mahua Chhatwara, district Vaishali, Bihar has been identified among the deceased. Efforts are being made to identify three other passengers who lost their lives in the accident.

DM and SP took stock

After getting information about the incident, District Magistrate Isha Priya and Superintendent of Police Prachi Singh also reached the spot. Officials inspected the relief and rescue work and took information regarding the treatment of the injured. Police have started investigating the facts related to the accident.
